Media Advisory: Endless Mileage Project named recipient of P&G’s Athletes for Good grant, Ben Blankenship wins IOC’s Climate Action Award for Athlete Advocacy

EUGENE, Ore. – The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and P&G have announced that Ben Blankenship and the Endless Mileage Project have been awarded an Athletes for Good grant, with Blankenship also winning the IOC’s Climate Action Award for Athlete Advocacy.

Blankenship nominated The Endless Mileage Project for the grant, which is given to selected Olympians or Olympic hopefuls making positive impacts in their communities alongside their designated charities. More than 100 athletes applied for the $24,000 grant, with 20 ultimately being named recipients.

The IOC Climate Action Awards recognize Olympic and Paralympic athletes, International Federations, and National Olympic Committees for their proactive efforts in tackling climate change. The Athlete Advocacy category specifically highlights the endeavors of athletes who actively engage people and communities in the fight against climate change.

“I am incredibly proud that our non-profit is being honored in this way, and I’m deeply grateful to the IOC and P&G for their support of the work we do,” said Blankenship, a 2016 Olympian and the founder of the Endless Mileage Project. “These funds will support our mission, helping us engage the next generation of athletes as we plant trees and distribute athletic gear in our community and beyond.”
